Job summary

GEA Group in Illinois (Romeoville) is seeking a production/packaging associate to support filling, sealing, labeling and palletizing processes in a GMP/FDA-compliant environment. You will monitor equipment, manage packaging materials, and ensure accurate batch documentation while maintaining safety and clean work areas.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED with 2-3 years’ experience and forklift certification.

Qualifications

  • Requires a High School Diploma or GED with 2-3 years of experience.
  • Certified to operate various forklift trucks.
  • Able to communicate effectively with Purchasing, R&D and QA departments.
  • Familiar with operating procedures for conveyors, scales, hoists, meters, etc.
  • Ability to perform basic arithmetic and read measurements.

Responsibilities

  • Follow GMP and FDA procedures in manufacturing.
  • Maintain a steady production flow meeting quality standards.
  • Prepare packaging materials to fill, seal, and palletize packages.
  • Package regulated hazardous chemicals as needed.
  • Ensure product is filled into pre-labeled containers.
  • Monitor fill levels and appearance of materials.
  • Operate and monitor packaging equipment.
  • Document production via batch tickets and tags.
  • Assist with unloading empty drums and other warehousing tasks.
  • Maintain clean and safe work area and follow safety procedures.

Your responsibilities and tasks
  • Follow all manufacturing procedures per GMP and FDA requirements.
  • Responsible for maintaining a constant flow of production consistent with established production and quality standards.
  • Prepare packaging materials in order to fill, seal, and palletize various packages according to manufacturing order.
  • Responsible for packaging some regulated hazardous chemicals
  • Ensure that product is being filled in appropriate pre-labeled containers.
  • Monitor the appearance and fill levels of the materials being packaged.
  • Monitor the operation of the equipment being utilized.
  • Properly write up production tags with the amount of packaged product and accurately report on batch ticket.
  • May be required to assist with unloading of empty drum trailers and other warehousing functions.
  • Maintain a clean and neat appearance of the immediate work area.
  • Follow all safety instructions and procedures.
Your profile and qualifications

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Highschool Diploma OR GED Required with 2-3 years of experience
  • Be certified to operate various forklift trucks.
  • Must be able to communicate efficiently with personnel in Purchasing, R&D and QA departments.
  • Be familiar with operating procedures for conveyors, scales, hoists, meters, etc.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to read and interpret metal rule.
  • Be familiar with procedures such as lock-out/tag-out, confined space, HAZMAT, forklift safety and various other safety measures.
