Job summary

Forte Opening Solutions is seeking a Machine Operator to join a high-performance manufacturing team in Pennsylvania. The role involves operating and inspecting machinery, loading hinges, and ensuring accurate door assembly on a rotating cross-functional crew.

Candidates should have a HS diploma or GED, be able to lift up to 50 lbs, and pass a background check and drug screen. Training will cover safety, LOTO, and use of hand and power tools.

Qualifications

• Able to pass pre-employment background check and drug screen.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for long periods.
• Willingness to rotate positions on a cross-functional team.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-operation machine inspections and load screws/hinges.
• Sort and push door stacks along conveyor tracks.
• Use mallet to loosen doors and load hinge panels for hinging.
• Inspect hardware alignment and ensure proper application prior to push off.
• Change bits, restock rails, and assist as needed; direct rejected doors for repair.
• Follow LOTO procedures and use air gun for cleanup.

Operators need to be cooperative and willing to apply their skills and rotate positions on a regular basis to make the team successful.What you will do:Pre-operation machine inspection- load screws and hinges.Sort and push door stacks down the conveyor tracks.Use mallet to loosen doors. Load hinge machine with bifold door panels for hinging. Inspect and ensure hardware aligned and applied correctly prior to push off.Pull off cullboards, change bits, restock rails/assist.Reject doors are directed to repair and remakes requested.LOTO certified and use of air gun during clean up.Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, bending, constant twisting while carrying product, stooping, pushing, and standing for long continuous hours is required.What you will need:Preferably one year experience in manufacturing setting working in a similar roleHS Diploma or GED equivalentAble to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screenKnowledge, Skills & Abilities:Work on a computerUse a Tape Measure, CaliperUse hand and power toolsBasic reading and writing skillsAbility to add and subtract fractions and whole numbers, convert fractions to decimals* (Exceptional math abilities are a must.)*Ability to read, follow, and understand work instructionsAbility to do small repairs on doors
