Job summary

Lakeside Foods Inc. in Manitowoc is seeking a Machine Operator Team Member for our Frozen Department. You will work on a packaging line, maintaining, adjusting, and inspecting machinery to ensure quality product and accurate packaging.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED, preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 35 lbs.
• Basic math skills.
• Able to work independently with little supervision.
• Safety-minded and confidentiality of sensitive information.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain packaging line machinery with moderate skill.
• Lubricate, adjust, and clean packaging equipment.
• Set up and maintain machinery on the line.
• Inspect poly and cartons for correct specifications.
• Ensure accurate palletizing and pallet tickets.
• Record line reporting whether by computer or paper.
• Supervise line personnel on the line.
• Assist in training new line staff and operators.
• Adhere to Lakeside Foods policies and procedures.
• May perform other duties as assigned.

What You’ll Do:

• Conduct maintenance work, requiring moderate skill levels on all associate equipment on a packaging line, including mixing operation.
• Lubricate, adjust, and clean packaging machine.
• Maintain and set up machinery on the packaging line.
• Examine poly to ensure that the correct poly is being applied to the designated product and lot.
• Examine the cartons to ensure that the cartons are printing according to buyer's specifications.
• Maintain proper palletizing of the finished cases using slip sheets when necessary.
• Inspect and compare pallet tickets against pallet load to ensure accuracy.
• Responsible for all line reporting by computer or paper.
• Supervise the Line Personnel on his/her respective line.
• Assist in training new Line employees and/or new Machine Operators.
• Responsible for work accomplished by the personnel in the Frozen Packaging Department.
• Adhere to all Lakeside Foods policies and procedures.
• May perform other duties as assigned.

What You’ll Bring:

• High school diploma or GED, preferred.
• Previous Quality Control experience preferred.
• Basic math function.
• Able to work independently with little or no supervision.
• Ability to maintain proper confidentiality of sensitive information.
• Ability to occasionallylift up to 35 lbs.
• Safety mindset.
