Job summary

Altium Packaging in Londonderry, NH is seeking a Machine Operator to run blow-mold, PET, and injection molding equipment on the 2nd shift. You will help produce bottles, perform basic troubleshooting, and support maintenance to keep the line running.

This role requires basic math and computer skills, a high school diploma or GED, and a safety-focused mindset. You’ll work six days a week with overtime as needed and participate in continuous improvement efforts.

Qualifications

• Minimum required: basic math and computer skills.
• Experience with blow-mold manufacturing preferred.
• Must meet production and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Operate blow-mold, PET, and injection molding machines to produce bottles.
• Follow GMP and safety policies; wear PPE and maintain clean work areas.
• Troubleshoot process problems and perform minor maintenance.
• Document daily production reports and line efficiencies.
• Monitor packaging, labeling, and quality checks; escalate defects.
• Assist with setup, changeovers, and preventive maintenance.

Work Shift: 8hr-2nd Shift (United States of America) Schedule: 3:00 PM - 11:30 PM, 6 days a week (Monday-Saturday) with rotating weekends.

The Machine Operator will operate blow-mold/PET/injection molding machines, grinders, trimmer machines, and conveyor systems. Role is responsible for troubleshooting process problems and performing minor maintenance to ensure continued operation of the production line. The Machine Operator is also responsible for following our company's Good Manufacturing Practices.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

• Demonstrates safe work practices by wearing correct PPE and following safety policies.
• Demonstrates punctuality and adheres to work schedule.
• Demonstrates a One Team Cross Functional attitude by working well and effectively with others.
• Embraces and participates in continuous improvement processes to drive change within the plant.
• Adheres to company General Manufacturing Policies.
• Ensures compliance with corporate and plant safety standards and applicable laws and regulations.
• Keeps the work area clutter free, clean, and organized.
• Introduces preventive maintenance, mold, neck and blow pin and other mechanical changes.
• Operates blow-mold/PET/injection molding machines (including wheels, reciprocating or shuttle machines) to ensure production of quality bottles.
• Adheres to quality control and to blow mold process procedure.
• Introduces troubleshooting and resolves process problems.
• Performs bottle inspections, such as drop tests for designated lines.
• Inspects the quality of bottles during production, packaging and labeling.
• Performs audits, weights and quality checks. Machines may vary by site.
• Makes adjustments to meet product specifications.
• Troubleshoots and performs minor repair on blow-mold and support equipment.
• Escalates all bottle abnormalities, defects and quality issues when found.
• Monitors supply levels of packaging materials and replenishes as needed.
• Picks up dropped bottles and places into bins or grinder if needed.
• Ensures correct labeling, bottle description and packaging of product in accordance with specific customer requirements.
• Moves finished goods to designated area.
• Prepares and documents daily production reports, including rejects, regrinds, line efficiencies and other.
• Prepares maintenance request forms and documents equipment repairs.
• Receives instructions on specific job task by Lead Operator or Supervisor; seeks assistance on unusual problems and reviews work for sound professional judgment.
• Other duties as assigned by management.
• Duties may differ by plant based on equipment and plant design.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts in a production environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. Temperatures inside the plant can fluctuate between hot and cold according to seasonal changes. Personal protective equipment (PPE) is required in the production department and other designated areas.
