Location Address: 14 Hall Street, Batavia, New York 14020

Work Shift: 8hr-2nd Shift (United States of America)

The Machine Operator will operate blow-mold/PET/injection molding machines, grinders, trimmer machines, and conveyor systems. The role is responsible for troubleshooting process problems and performing minor maintenance to ensure continued operation of the production line. The Machine Operator is also responsible for following our company's Good Manufacturing Practices.

Responsibilities
  • Demonstrates safe work practices by wearing correct PPE and following safety policies.
  • Demonstrates punctuality and adheres to the work schedule.
  • Demonstrates a One Team Cross Functional attitude by working well and effectively with others.
  • Embraces and participates in continuous improvement processes to drive change within the plant.
  • Adheres to company General Manufacturing Policies, ensuring compliance with corporate and plant safety standards and applicable laws.
  • Maintains a clutter‑free, clean, and organized work area.
  • Undergoes training in preventive maintenance, mold, neck and blow pin, and other mechanical changes.
  • Operates blow-mold/PET/injection molding machines (including wheels, reciprocating or shuttle machines) to produce quality bottles.
  • Follows quality control and blow mold process procedures.
  • Diagnoses and resolves process problems.
  • Performs bottle inspections, such as drop tests for designated lines.
  • Inspects bottle quality during production, packaging and labeling.
  • Conducts audits, weights and quality checks. Machines may vary by site.
  • Adjusts process to meet product specifications.
  • Troubleshoots and performs minor repairs on blow-mold and support equipment.
  • Escalates all bottle abnormalities, defects and quality issues promptly.
  • Monitors supply levels of packaging materials and replenishes as needed.
  • Collects dropped bottles, places them into bins, and, if needed, into a grinder.
  • Ensures correct labeling, bottle description and packaging of product per customer requirements.
  • Moves finished goods to the designated area.
  • Prepares and documents daily production reports, including rejects, regrinds, line efficiencies and other.
  • Prepares maintenance request forms and documents equipment repairs.
  • Receives instructions on specific job tasks from the Lead Operator or Supervisor; assists with unusual problems and reviews work for application of sound professional judgment.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by management, with duties varying by plant based on equipment and design.

Reasonable mandatory overtime may be required due to business needs.

Qualifications
  • Basic mathematical skills.
  • Basic computer experience.
  • Blow mold experience.
Education

Prefer High School diploma or general education degree (GED).

Training

Completion of Altium Production/Machine Operator training within 90 days of hire date.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts in a production environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. Temperatures inside the plant can fluctuate between hot and cold according to seasonal changes. Personal protective equipment (PPE) is required in the production department and other designated areas.

Targeted Pay Range

$21.00 - $26.88
