Job summary

BlueScope Buildings North America, Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented Machine Operator to operate and maintain equipment that shapes materials into precise components. You will work Monday through Friday, 2:00pm–10:00pm, with overtime potential and a $2.00/hour shift differential.

You’ll set up machines, verify specifications from drawings, and help ensure materials meet exact standards. A strong emphasis on safety, organization, and continuous improvement is required.

Responsibilities

• Operate and shape materials using machines to meet specifications.
• Set up machines and verify specifications from drawings and blueprints.
• Safely lift and position materials using cranes and forklifts as needed.
• Perform inspections using measuring tools to ensure quality at all stages.
• Participate in continuous improvement and corrective actions.
• Maintain material inventory and assist with housekeeping and 5S practices.

We’re looking for skilled and detail-oriented individuals to operate and maintain machines that shape materials into high-quality components for our community. Pay for this position is $26.08/hour and will include a $2.00/hour shift differential.

Hours are Monday-Friday 2:00pm-10:00pm with some OT Required.

What You’ll Do

• Operate and Shape: Use machines to cut, punch, bend, weld, or shape materials into specified components to meet current demands.
• Prepare and Set Up: Set up machines and confirm specifications using drawings, blueprints, tablets, or other tools.
• Lift and Position Materials: Safely use lifting devices, such as cranes and forklifts, to position materials or parts as needed.
• Ensure Quality: Utilize measuring tools and processes to perform inspections before, during, and after production, ensuring materials meet exact specifications.
• Contribute to Improvement: Actively participate in continuous improvement and corrective action activities.
• Maintain and Organize: Keep track of material inventory, perform machine maintenance, and support housekeeping and organizational standards, such as 5-S practices.
