Job summary

BlueScope Buildings is seeking a skilled Machine Operator to operate and maintain equipment that shapes materials into precise components. You will work Monday through Friday with a 3 p.m. to 11 p.m. shift, focusing on quality, safety, and efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Operate and shape materials using machines.

What You'll Do

• Operate and Shape: Use machines to cut, punch, bend, weld, or shape materials into specified components to meet current demands.
• Prepare and Set Up: Set up machines and confirm specifications using drawings, blueprints, tablets, or other tools.
• Lift and Position Materials: Safely use lifting devices, such as cranes and forklifts, to position materials or parts as needed.
• Ensure Quality: Utilize measuring tools and processes to perform inspections before, during, and after production, ensuring materials meet exact specifications.
• Contribute to Improvement: Actively participate in continuous improvement and corrective action activities.
• Maintain and Organize: Keep track of material inventory, perform machine maintenance, and support housekeeping and organizational standards, such as 5-S practices.

Shift: Monday thru Friday 3p.m -11p.m
