Job summary

BlueScope Buildings North America, Inc. is seeking a vigilant Machine Operator to run shaping equipment and maintain quality components for construction projects. You’ll work 10:00pm–6:00am Sunday PM–Friday AM with overtime as needed, and receive hands-on training in a collaborative, safety-focused environment with extensive benefits.

From setup to inspection, you’ll help maintain efficiency, support 5-S practices, and contribute to continuous improvement in a dynamic production setting.

Responsibilities

• Operate machines to cut, punch, bend, weld, or shape materials.
• Set up machines and verify specifications from drawings, blueprints, tablets, or other tools.
• Safely lift and position materials using cranes and forklifts.
• Use measuring tools to inspect quality before, during, and after production.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and corrective action activities.
• Maintain material inventory, perform machine maintenance, and support 5-S standards.

We’re looking for skilled and detail-oriented individuals to operate and maintain machines that shape materials into high-quality components for our community. Pay for this position is $26.08/hour and will include a $2.00/hour shift differential. Hours are Sunday PM-Friday AM 10:00pm-6:00am with some OT Required.

What You’ll Do

• Operate and Shape: Use machines to cut, punch, bend, weld, or shape materials into specified components to meet current demands.
• Prepare and Set Up: Set up machines and confirm specifications using drawings, blueprints, tablets, or other tools.
• Lift and Position Materials: Safely use lifting devices, such as cranes and forklifts, to position materials or parts as needed.
• Ensure Quality: Utilize measuring tools and processes to perform inspections before, during, and after production, ensuring materials meet exact specifications.
• Contribute to Improvement: Actively participate in continuous improvement and corrective action activities.
• Maintain and Organize: Keep track of material inventory, perform machine maintenance, and support housekeeping and organizational standards, such as 5-S practices.
