Job summary

Olli Salumeria in Oceanside, CA is seeking a 1st shift Machine Operator to run, monitor and adjust production equipment in our salamimanufacturing plant. You will ensure machines operate safely, efficiently, and in line with quality and food safety standards.

Starting between 5:00 and 7:00 am, Monday through Friday with Saturdays as needed, you will set up machines, perform adjustments, conduct visual and weight checks, and escalate issues to leads when necessary.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in food manufacturing or similar environment.
• Experience operating machinery (e.g., slicers, packaging equipment).
• Knowledge of HACCP, GMP, USDA/FSIS requirements.
• Ability to start at 5am–7am and work Monday–Friday, with Saturdays as needed.

Responsibilities

Job Summary

The Machine Operatoris responsible foroperating, monitoring, and adjusting production equipment used inour salamimanufacturingplant. This role ensures machines run safely, efficiently, and according to quality and food safety standards, supporting consistent production of finished products.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities (not restrictive)

• Operate andmonitorequipment such as slicers, packaging machines(including automation), and other productionmachinery.
• Set up machines at the start of shift,perform machine adjustments tomaintainproper speeds, weights, cuts, and product specifications. Support changeovers, cleaning, and equipment teardown/assembly.
• Verify process parameters and document results according to HACCP, GMP, and USDA/FSIS requirements;conduct quality checks, including visual inspection, weight control, labeling, and package integrity.
• Identifyand troubleshoot minor mechanical issues; escalatetoLead,Maintenance or Supervisor when needed.
• Maintain clean and sanitized work areas and equipment following sanitation and food safety practices.
• Follow all safety procedures, including lockout/tagout, PPE use, equipment guarding, and safe material handling.
• Communicate production issues, downtime, supply needs, or quality concerns promptly to leadership.

Education, Training:

• High school diploma or equivalent; formalized training in Machine Operation or mechanics helpful

Experience Required:

• Minimum of2years’ experiencein food manufacturingor similar environment, including experienceoperating machinery.
• Experience in RTE meator similar snacksor similar industrypreferred.

Pay Range : $20-$22 per hour depending on experience

Starting rate of pay may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, position offered, location, education, training, and/or experience.
