Job summary

MiTek is hiring for a press operator role in Minnesota. You will operate stamping presses and packaging equipment, meet daily production goals, and ensure safety and quality reporting throughout your shift.

Responsibilities include feeding, inspection, and packing of metal connectors and steel components, while maintaining accurate records and assisting mechanics as needed. The position requires reliability, basic math, and familiarity with prints and tools.

Qualifications

  • High School/GED preferred.
  • Up to 1 Year related experience and/or training preferred.
  • Equivalent combination of experience and education which clearly indicates the ability to perform the essential functions of the position may substitute on a year for year basis.
  • Able to perform mathematical skills such as calculating proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume and able to apply concepts of basic geometry.
  • Ability to read and understand prints and schematics.
  • Ability to use small hand-power tools, including reading a tape measure with 1/32-inch increments.
  • Able to use Microsoft Office Applications.

  • Manually pack metal connectors and/or steel components into packaging containers.
  • Strive to keep product waste to a minimum; inspect finished products and mark steel lot numbers on shipping containers.
  • Monitor production equipment coolant and oil levels and adjust accordingly.
  • Ongoing inspection of products being produced to our internal quality standards.
  • Complete quality and production paperwork in its entirety throughout assigned shift.
  • Attendance at work during the regularly scheduled shift is an essential duty; overtime may be required.

Job Responsibilities & Requirements
A Brief Overview

Operate stamping presses and auxiliary equipment producing metal connector plates and steel components with manual and automated packaging processes. Ensuring safety and quality compliance, as well as precise production reporting, are major responsibilities of this role. Wage range $20.00/hr to $24.00/hr, based on knowledge and experience

What You Will Do:
  • Operate a stamping press and auxiliary equipment with manual and automated packaging processes
  • Meet and/or exceed daily production goals
  • Report all machine malfunctions to mechanics or supervisors
  • Assist mechanics whenever required to keep press/packaging equipment operational

Physical Demands This is a physical position that requires the individual to be able to: stand, walk and carry up to 50 lbs., push/pull and crouch. This position requires the individual to be able to communicate through speaking and hearing.
