Responsibilities

  • Identify, troubleshoot and resolve equipment or process issues.
  • Follow documented processes to produce parts meeting quality standards.
  • Use precision instruments to measure and verify part quality.
  • Maintain safety by applying PPE and following hazard controls.
  • Suggest productivity improvements and workflow enhancements.
  • Maintain quality specifications and output; be accountable for results.
  • Monitor machines and request help when needed.
  • Keep machinery and workspace clean and organized.
  • Perform sorting/counting tasks as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The Machine Operator is responsible for configuring, loading and operating of equipment for safe and efficient production of quality parts using CNC machines in a manufacturing environment. Day shift is 12 hrs/day, 3-4 days/wk, work every other weekend.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Essential functions are those tasks, duties, and responsibilities that comprise the means of accomplishing the job's purpose and objectives. Essential functions are critical or fundamental to the performance of the job. They are the major functions for which the person in the job is held accountable.

  • Identifies, troubleshoots, and asks for help to resolve issues with equipment, devices, or products.
  • Follows instructions, documented processes, and training procedures to accurately produce parts that meet quality standards.
  • Uses precision instruments to measure and verify quality production of parts per specification.
  • Ensures compliance with Global Polymer safety practices by wearing PPE and following specific job hazard controls.
  • Offers suggestions for productivity improvement and workflow processes.
  • Maintains quality specifications and quantity output and is accountable for both.
  • Monitors machines and equipment used for problems and requests help with issues.
  • Cleans machinery and maintains a clean work area.
  • Conducts sorting activities to count and verify items.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
EDUCATION & TRAINING REQUIREMENTS
  • High School Diploma or equivalent and on the job training
WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
  • Ability to communicate in either Spanish or English
  • Mechanical aptitude with strong attention to details is required.
  • Advanced math skills required.
  • Ability to act and interact with others in a respectful manner.
  • Preference given to prior manufacturing or production experience.
  • Preference given to prior work experience lasting longer than 1 year.
  • Will train the right person.
