Ultrafab Inc. is hiring a Machine Operator I to help produce high-quality weather stripping and specialty products.

In a fast-paced, team-oriented environment, you will operate essential equipment, collaborate with technicians and supervisors, and contribute to safe and efficient production. After completing training, you will keep machines running, assist with troubleshooting, perform quality inspections, and record downtime and scrap.

Qualifications

• Operate equipment safely to produce weather stripping and specialty products.
• Collaborate with technicians and supervisors to maintain continuous operations.
• Complete quality inspections and report issues on the production line.
• Set up and recalibrate production equipment according to GMPs and SOPs.
• Record machine downtime, repairs, scrap, and output.
• Participate in safety initiatives and follow standard work procedures.

Responsibilities

• Follows safety work practices and supports safety initiatives.
• Performs quality inspections and ensures product tolerances.
• Sets up, recalibrates and makes minor adjustments to machines.
• Notifies technicians of production line issues to ensure prompt resolution.
• Replenishes raw materials and removes finished product.
• Records downtime, repairs, scrap, and when machines are back online.
• Performs minor repairs.
• Other duties as assigned.

Salary Range: $18-$21

Job Function

Our machine operators are responsible for the safe and efficient operation of equipment and processes utilized in the production of quality weather stripping/specialty products for our customers. Machine Operator I works closely and communicates with the technicians, supervisors, and other personnel as necessary to maintain continuous operation of the equipment and processes.

Upon successful completion of machine operator training, the operator's primary responsibility is to keep the machines accurately running. Upon learning advanced skills, will assist technicians to solve and troubleshoot issues, change over, and or equipment repairs.

Primary Responsibilities

Safety

• Follows all safety work practices as outlined in standard work procedures
• Supports plant or departmental safety initiatives

Quality

• Performs all quality inspections in accordance with standard work instructions
• Ensures product is within specification tolerances
• Completes inspection audit sheet or charting requirements
• Informs technician of quality issues on the production line

Productivity

• Follows standard work for light priorities
• Set up and recalibrate production equipment according to GMPs and SOPs
• Notifies area technician of issues with the production lines to ensure prompt resolution
• Replenishes raw material supply on machines
• Removes finished product
• Makes minor adjustments to machines
• Performs minor repairs

Records problems

• Records time and reason machine is out of operation
• Records time when the machine is back online
• Records repairs needed to machine
• Records amount and reason for scrap
