Job summary

BURROWS CABINETS is seeking a skilled shop floor operator to run CNC machinery, cut and shape wood components, and ensure products meet exact specs. You will read drawings, follow work orders, and maintain quality and safety standards. The role emphasizes attention to detail, ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and teamwork in a fast-paced Wisconsin cabinet manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Basic understanding of wood species.
  • Excellent attention to detail and results driven.
  • Able to use a tape measure and calipers.
  • Able to perform to production standards.
  • Identify common quality defects in material.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Able to lift heavy objects and work overtime as required.
  • Basic math and computer skills.
  • Experience with CNC machinery is a plus.
  • Follow directions and be coachable.
  • Work well with others and follow safety guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Follow the set-up, shut down and operation instructions.
  • Perform changeovers and replace tooling as required.

  • Inspect and measure finished products against requirements.

Job description

Responsible for operating and maintaining equipment to cut and shape various materials into specified forms, shapes, and sizes. They will also be responsible for ensuring that all products are of the highest quality and meet customer specifications.

Responsibilities and duties:
  • Follow the set-up, shut down and operation instructions.
  • Able to perform changeovers and replace tooling as required.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings and shop routings.
  • Ensure all work is completed per the work order.
  • Ensure all quality standards are met. Inspect and measure finished products and compare them with requirements to determine if the process has been completed properly.
  • Perform all design maintenance tasks and maintain a clean work area.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED required.

  • Basic understanding of wood species.

  • Requires excellent attention to detail and a results driven approach.

  • Able to use a tape measure and calipers.

  • Able to perform to production standards.

  • Ability to determine common quality defects in material.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills both verbal and written.

  • Able to lift heavy objects in excess of 30 lbs without considerations.

  • Ability to perform other duties as assigned.

  • Ability to work overtime as required.

  • Requires excellent time management skills.

  • Basic math and computer skills.

  • Skill in operating CNC machinery is a plus.

  • Follow direction and instruction - coachable

  • Work well with other employees

Physical Demands and Working Conditions

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job, with or without reasonable accommodation. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to:

  • Remain in a stationary position for extended periods.
  • Move about the factory floor to access machinery, materials, and product storage.
  • Transport materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Operate, activate, and use production machinery and hand tools that require repetitive motions of the wrists, hands, and fingers.
  • Detects and inspect parts for quality control at close vision (less than 20 inches) and assess safety hazards from a distance (20 feet or more).

The employee will be exposed to a manufacturing environment where the noise level can be loud and will work around moving mechanical parts. Regular exposure to airborne particles and temperature fluctuations should be expected. The use of appropriate PPE is required.
