Position Overview
  • Job Title: Machine Operator (MIO Operator, Temp‑to‑Hire)
  • Location: Winchester Plant, Winchester, VA
  • Department: MIO
  • Employment Type: Hourly / Temp‑to‑Hire
  • Hourly Wage: $22.00
  • HACCP / GMP: Knowledge of HACCP and GMP preferred; on‑the‑job training provided.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Start up, operate, and shut down Optima bottle staging, air rinser, filling, capping equipment, coder, and conveying systems.
  • Monitor mechanical operation of equipment and unjam machines as needed.
  • Troubleshoot issues, report to technicians, and record actions on machine logs.
  • Monitor quality issues and perform and record checks on bottle code legibility and correctness, weights, temperatures, and Complete Sanitation Check points.
  • Maintain good housekeeping and perform mini‑cleans, CIP, interdictives, product pushes, and changeovers as required.
  • Maintain weight program and perform quality checks; be aware of E‑stop locations and filler functions.
  • Participate in Green Room process improvement meetings and provide input for team development.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, Good Manufacturing Practices, and dress code policies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • No prior experience required; on‑the‑job training provided.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and work in a manufacturing environment.
  • Basic understanding of machine operation and safety protocols.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively.
  • Knowledge of GMP and HACCP is an asset.
