Job summary

Brewer Company in Wisconsin seeks a production operator to operate specialized foam cutting equipment, including Splitter, Horizontal, Vertical, and Reciprocating Saws, and to operate a forklift as needed. You will work with all departments to support Acuity Foam Fabrication's mission and quality standards.

Ideal candidates will have manufacturing-related experience, a high school diploma or equivalent, and strong attention to safety and accuracy.

Qualifications

• Reads and interprets engineering drawings/blueprints.
• Related experience in Manufacturing, Carpentry, or Maintenance preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Able to perform basic arithmetic in all units and read measurements (fractions, decimals, inches).
• Able to read safety rules and operating/maintenance instructions.

Responsibilities

• Operate foam cutting equipment (Splitter, Horizontal, Vertical, Reciprocating Saws) to meet job routing.
• Provide training support for a team of saw operators.
• Process materials efficiently to minimize waste while maintaining quality.
• Complete paperwork accurately and ensure departmental processes are followed.
• Perform general cleaning and maintain a safe, clean work area.

Position Summary:

Operate specialized foam cutting equipment including but not limited to Splitter, Horizontal, Vertical, and Reciprocating Saws. Operate forklift. Works collaboratively with all other departments in support of Acuity Foam Fabrication mission and quality policies.

Essential Responsibilities: (other duties as assigned)

• Operate equipment and produce product to customer requirements per job routing
• Provide training support for team of saw operators
• Efficiently process materials of varying sizes to minimize waste while maintaining quality
• Ensure that all paperwork is completed accurately and that processes are followed within the department
• Perform general cleaning maintenance and maintain a safe, clean work area.

• Read and interpret engineering drawings (blueprints)
• Related experience preferred: Manufacturing, Carpentry, Maintenance
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to convert fractions and decimals, read a ruler in increments of 1/16" and .06".
• Consistent and timely attendance required
• Ability to follow directions
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals

Physical / Mental Demands:

• Ability to lift, bend, walk and stand for extended periods of time
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds occasionally (Generally weight for lifting, pulling and pushing is less than 50 pounds).
• Reaching. Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction
• Grasping. Applying pressure to an object with the fingers and palm
• The worker is required to have visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, quality and thoroughness of the work
