MCC Label in Weaverville, NC is seeking a Press Utility to support Press Operators with setup, make-ready, and clean-up tasks in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

• Print shop experience helpful but not required.

• Standing for long periods with lifting up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Comply with all company and safety policies and procedures.
• Assist in planning and execution of jobs and quick changes.
• Assist in make-ready and cleanup for changeover between label jobs.
• Clean ink pans and equipment; strip plates from cylinders.
• Locate dies to and from the press; observe labels with strobe light if required.
• Maintain quality assurance per customer and MCC specs; document as needed.
• Keep workspace clean and organized; work overtime when required.
• Perform related duties as assigned.

We are currently looking for a Press Utility to join our team . The Press Utility is responsible for assisting the Press Operators as directed to perform press setup, make-ready, and clean-up activities within a defined time frame .

Responsibilities

• Comply with all company and safety policies and procedures
• Attains and maintains all defined job objectives related to the planning and execution of all jobs and quick changes
• Assists in the performance of all external make-ready operations in preparation for changeover activities (changing from one label job to another)
• Assists in the performance of all external clean-up activities following changeover
• Cleans ink pans and ancillary equipment
• Strips plates from cylinders
• Locates dies to and from the press
• May be required to work with a press operator to view labels with the assistance of a strobe light
• Comply with the quality assurance specifications of the customer and MCC
• May be required to complete the quality assurance sheet and associated documentation
• Responsible for the cleanliness of machinery and the organization of the workspace
• Responsible for working overtime when needed and as assigned
• Related duties as assigned

Qualifications :

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Print shop experience helpful, but not required
• Ability to communicate and interact well with others (verbally and in written form); seen as a team player
• Ability to read and understand a job ticket
• Ability to read a ruler and understand measurements (able to pass a ruler test)
• Ability correctable to 20/20 (able to pass an eye test)
• Ability to differentiate colors (able to pass a color test)
• Ability to input data into the computer
• Ability to work in a team environment with a high sense of urgency for on-time completion of assigned activities
• Self-motivated with the ability to stay focused and follow instructions
• A ssertive and solution-focused
• Ability to prioritize, multitask, and work in a fast-paced environment
• The physical demands require standing, using hands to feel and touch; reach with arms and hands; talk and hear.
• This position requires frequent walking.
• Occasionally employee is required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
• Must be able to regularly lift or move up to 50 pounds.
• Specific vision requirements are close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
