Admiral Cable Inc. is seeking a Machine Operator for the insulation and jacketing lines at our New Mexico plant. The role focuses on setting up, operating, and monitoring extrusion lines to produce wire and cable products with insulation and outer jackets.

Candidates should maintain safety standards and support maintenance activities. Responsibilities include adjusting machine parameters, recording production data, coordinating with QA for testing, and assisting with routine equipment

Qualifications

• Experience or understanding of PVC insulation/extrusion processes is preferred.
• Ability to troubleshoot extrusion line issues and perform preventive maintenance.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety standards.
• Proven team player with effective communication skills.
• Must properly use all required PPE and follow safety protocols.

Responsabilités

• Set up, operate, and monitor extrusion lines for insulation and jacketing processes.
• Adjust parameters (temperature, speed, line settings) to meet production targets.
• Record settings and outputs; report deviations to QA.
• Coordinate with quality control for sampling and testing; maintain production logs.
• Support die and screen cleaning, lubrication, and basic equipment maintenance.

Machine Operator ( Insulation & Jacketing)

Job Overview:
Our plant in New Mexico is state of the art and we are preparing for a major expansion. We are seeking Machine Operator who will be responsible for setting up, operating, and monitoring extrusion lines to produce wire and cable product, specially in the insulation, jacketing and twist areas.

Duties

Insulation Area:

• Operate extrusion machinery to apply insulation material to wire conductors according to production requirements.
• Set and adjust machine parameter such as temperature, pressure, and line speed for optimum result.
• Record machine setting production output, and any deviation in process log.
• Coordinate with quality control for sample testing and verification.

Jacketing Area:

• Operate extrusion equipment to apply protective outer jackets to finished wires or cables.
• Monitor line performance and make necessary adjustments to maintain desired jacket dimensions and surface finish.
• Handle product reel changes safely and maintain continuous production flow.
• Assist with die and screen cleaning, lubrication, and basic equipment maintenance.

Skills

PVC material knowledge and extrusion principles.

Strong teamwork and communication abilities.

Properly utilize all required Personal Protection Equipment (PPE)

Physical & Work Requirements

Standing and walking for most of the shift in a production environment

Ability to lift or move material weighing up to 50 lbs

Availability for rotating shift, weekends and overtime as needed.

• Works in a standard office environment and a heavy industrial manufacturing plant.
• Must be available to respond to critical equipment failures or emergencies outside of normal business hours, including nights and weekends.
• May be required to be on-call on a rotating basis.
