Job summary

Superior Technical Ceramics Corporation (STC) is seeking a Machine Operator to run basic production machinery and deliver quality ceramic components. The role requires operating multiple machine types, basic SPC logging, and strict adherence to safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

  • 0–1 years of machine operator/manufacturing experience or equivalent classroom experience.
  • Basic understanding of measurement tools (calipers, micrometers) or strong math skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow precise instructions.
  • Willingness to learn and work independently.
  • Ability to work with computers; Visual is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Safely loads and unloads parts from production machines.
  • Operates machines to produce components to specification.
  • Completes basic SPC and production logs as required.
  • Inspects finished parts using tools to verify quality.
  • Uses MRP/Barcode system to log and track production.
  • Reads routing instructions and transports finished parts to the next department.

Keeps track of individual production by logging in/out of our MRP/Barcode system and counting completed partsReads and follows routing instructions and brings finished parts to the next department.Other duties as assigned, including but not limited to, performing a variety of other machining operations in any one of STC’s three production locationsKnowledge and Experience:Level I0-1 years of prior machine operator/manufacturing experience/laborer a plus, or equivalent classroom experienceBasic understanding of measurement tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers) or strong math skills with the ability to learnStrong attention to detailAbility to follow precise written instructions and proceduresWillingness to learn and work independently in areas in which they are trainedAbility to work with computers, experience with Visual a plusAbility to work under the pressure of deadlinesLevel IIIncludes Level I plus:Minimum of 1 year experience at Level I or equivalent knowledge and experience2–3 years of prior machine operator/manufacturing experience, or equivalent classroom experienceCross-trained and proficient in performing tasks across departmentsAbility to work independently with minimal supervision under the pressure of deadlinesDemonstrates flexibility to work in various departments and roles as neededAbility to read calipers and micrometers and teach othersAbility to measure with a comparator and micro-viewHigh comfort level with computers and programs related to their workAbility to perform established set ups.Level IIIIncludes Level I and II plus:Minimum of 1 year experience at Level II or equivalent knowledge and experience2–3 years of prior machine operator/manufacturing experience, or equivalent classroom experienceAbility to measure with a comparator and micro-view and teach othersAttention to detail, with the ability to follow precise instructions and proceduresAbility to work independently and under the pressure of deadlinesAbility to perform established and new setupsAbility to troubleshoot mechanical issues and work with Engineering to resolve escalated issuesMay be asked to step in a leadership role when others are absentTotal Rewards:This position offers a compensation range of $37,500 – $72,200 (position level range does vary) annually and may be eligible for performance-based bonus plan, which is consistent with the organization’s compensation philosophy and market data. Initial salaries are not typically placed at the top of the range; progression toward the upper end is based on performance and demonstrated proficiency.
