Job summary

CRH's Oldcastle division in Ridgeway, SC is hiring a Machine Operator to operate manufacturing equipment and produce quality precast concrete products. You will follow safety policies, read specs, set up machines, and monitor for defects, maintaining clean work areas and assisting teammates to meet deadlines.

Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, basic electronics and hydraulics understanding, ability to read manuals, and basic math.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Review product for inconsistencies and ensure it meets quality requirements.
• Perform routine machine maintenance and housekeeping in the area.
• Assist other operators to set up machines and meet deadlines.
• Maintain a clean and orderly assigned area.

Job Summary

Operate machinery as directed while adhering to all rules and regulations mandated by safety policies to produce a superior product.

Job Responsibilities

• Read job specifications to determine machine adjustments and material requirements
• Set stops or guides to specific lengths as indicated by scale, rule or templates
• Observes machine operation to detect product defects or machine malfunction
• Review product for inconsistencies or abnormal appearance assuring product meets quality requirements
• Perform routine machine maintenance
• Assist other operators to set up machines and any other necessary tasks to adhere to deadlines and completion of product
• Make sure all housekeeping is maintained in a clear and orderly fashion in assigned area

Job Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; or at least one month of related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Basic understanding of electronics and programmable controllers
• Knowledge of the basics of hydraulics, electricity, and tools
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instruction, and procedure manuals
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide, in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
• Must encompass computer literacy as well as strong mechanical ability
• Leadership abilities preferred
