Job summary

Oldcastle APG, a CRH company, is seeking a Machine Operator for its dry mix production in Oklahoma. You will operate production machinery, perform setup adjustments, monitor dryers, and help teams meet deadlines while maintaining quality and safety standards.

You will be responsible for routine maintenance, startup of equipment, and accurate reporting of production data. Heavy computer use (Microsoft Office) and maintaining clean, organized work areas are required; weekend shifts may be assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules and operation manuals.
  • Must be able to work independently and maintain high accuracy.
  • Ability to perform basic math and measurements with whole numbers, fractions and decimals.

Responsibilities

  • Read job specifications to determine machine adjustments and material requirements.
  • Set stops or guides to specified lengths as indicated.
  • Observe dryer operation and adjust to maintain parameters.
  • Assist other operators to set up machines and meet deadlines.
  • Review products for quality and consistency against requirements.
  • Perform routine machine maintenance and startup daily production.
  • Report quality control results for daily production.
  • Frequent heavy computer usage, including Microsoft Office apps.
  • Maintain clean and orderly work areas; perform other duties as needed.

Job Summary

As an Oldcastle Machine Operator, this position is responsible for the operation of production machinery as needed in our dry mix plant.

Job Responsibilities
  • Read job specifications to determine machine adjustments and material requirements
  • Sets stops or guides to specific lengths as indicated by scale, rule or templates
  • Observe dryer operation and performs adjustments to maintain set parameters
  • Assist other operators to set up machines and any other necessary tasks to adhere to deadlines and completion of product
  • Review product for inconsistencies or abnormal appearance assuring product meets quality requirements
  • Performs routine machine maintenance
  • Startup machinery for daily production
  • Reporting quality control for daily production
  • Heavy computer usage, including Microsoft office apps
  • Make sure all housekeeping is maintained in a clear and orderly fashion in assigned areas
  • Other duties and responsibilities related to the nature of the job may be assigned on a temporary or permanent basis as needed
Job Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent, or at least one yearof related experience in trades specific to job requirements, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instruction, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to be a self-starter and work independently
  • Ability to add, subtract multiply and divide into all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
  • Have the ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form
  • Maintain a high level of accuracy in all aspects of work assignments
  • Demonstrated ability to operate a front-end loader
  • While performing the duties of this job the employee will be required to frequently stand on their feet for extended periods of time
  • Must have the ability to lift and/or move up to 70 lbs.
  • Able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends as needed
