Job summary

Taylor Staffing is seeking a CNC Machinist for a full-time, second-shift role in Oklahoma. You will operate conventional, special purpose, CNC, and NC machines to fabricate parts and support pressure relief solutions.

Responsibilities include reviewing blueprints, editing CNC programs, setting feeds and speeds, verifying dimensions, and maintaining safety and quality in a fast-paced environment. Overtime and shift premium apply.

Qualifications

  • Skilled in reading engineering drawings and blueprints.
  • Experience editing CNC programs and setting feeds/speeds.
  • Able to perform 3-4 setups per shift on small quantity orders.
  • Familiar with ERP systems (SAP, Epicor, Oracle or D365).
  • Capable of measuring with dial indicators and micrometers.

Responsibilities

  • Study specs and determine materials and machines.
  • Edit CNC programs to meet tolerances.
  • Set feeds and speeds for high-quality parts.
  • Verify dimensions with measuring tools.
  • Maintain a clean, safe work area and follow procedures.
  • Ensure shipments meet specifications and are dispatched on time.
  • Record data on lot cards and job travellers.
  • Communicate issues and plan to keep jobs on track.

CNC Machinist

We have a full-time 2ndShift Machinist position available).

Salary is $20.00 - $30.00/hour depending on experience

Hours are Monday - Thursday 3:15 p.m. - 12:45 a.m. Overtime and Friday's as required. Additional $2.00/hour 2nd shift premium. Additional 4.0 hours compensation each week at regular base rate. Subject to change. Would need to be able to train on dayshift for a few weeks.

As a Machinist, you will play a pivotal role in our manufacturing process, performing 3-4 setups per shift on small quantity orders.

Operating conventional, special purpose, CNC, and Numerical Control (NC) machines and machining center, you will fabricate metallic and non-metallic parts, contributing directly to the realization of our pressure relief solutions.

Key Job Responsibilities:
  • Study specifications, such as blueprints, sketches, models, or descriptions, and visualize products to determine the materials required and the machines to be used for part fabrication.
  • Select appropriate raw materials to ensure precision and quality.
  • Edit CNC programs to manufacture parts that meet drawing dimensions and tolerances.
  • Determine optimal feeds and speeds for producing high-quality parts.
  • Verify dimensions, alignments, and clearances using precise measuring instruments, such as dial indicators, gauge blocks, thickness gauges, and micrometres.
  • Competently run single-piece flow through machining cells, ensuring efficiency and accuracy.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area while adhering to prescribed safety procedures.
  • Assure that all shipments are accurate, meeting specification requirements, and dispatched on schedule.
  • Proactively notify the appropriate supervisor of any arising problems, while developing effective work plans to keep all jobs on track.
  • Conduct meticulous checks and implement necessary corrections on all parts, exceeding customer expectations.
  • Accurately record data on pertinent lot cards or job traveller.
  • Working knowledge of OE procedures, Company handbook, and Safety policies.
  • Effective verbal communication skills exhibiting OE Values and Behaviours.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Proficiency in basic computer skills to navigate business systems such as SAP, Epicor, Oracle or D365
  • Ability to read and interpret documents, such as engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Understanding of machine operating and maintenance instructions.
  • Working knowledge of personal computers and Microsoft Office products.
  • Collaboration skills to work with other departments for problem-solving and implementing improvements.
  • Competence in arithmetic, including adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Capability to work under pressure and meet demanding deadlines.
  • Effective multitasking capabilities, enabling efficient workflow management.
  • Preform Data entry ERP system for inventory transactions (job kitting) and clocking into job operations to record time on jobs.
  • Effective problem solving skills for equipment operation and product processing.
