Job summary

Samsung Electronics America, Inc. is seeking a Machine Operator / Machinist to set up, maintain, and operate production machinery in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The role requires English proficiency, the ability to stand for long shifts, and lifting up to 35 lbs.

Candidates should have a High School diploma or equivalent, with 5+ years of related experience; an Associate’s degree or Millwright/Electrician certificate is preferred. Overtime opportunities may be available.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree in a skilled trades field preferred.
  • Must be able to speak, read, and write English.
  • Ability to stand for 8–10 hours daily.
  • Overtime opportunities possible.
  • All employees must be able to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 35 lbs.
  • Must pass a drug test and background check.
  • Must be 18 or older and eligible to work in the United States.
  • 5+ years of relevant work experience.

Responsibilities

  • Set up machines (calibration, cleaning) to start a production cycle.

  • Feed raw material or parts to semi-automated machines.
  • Inspect parts with precision and measuring tools.
  • Test operation of machines periodically.
  • Fix issues that might occur during the shift.

  • Maintain activity logs.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.

  • Control and adjust machine settings (e.g. speed)
  • Feed raw material or parts to semi-automated machines
  • Inspect parts with precision and measuring tools
  • Test operation of machines periodically
  • Fix issues that might occur during the shift
  • Check output to spot any machine-related mistakes or flaws
  • Keep records of approved and defective units or final products
  • Maintain activity logs
  • Other responsibilities as assigned by management; job duties may change at any time with or without notice
  • All other duties as assigned
Skills and Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree in a skilled trades field preferred
  • Must be able to speak, read, and write English
  • The ability to stand up for 8 - 10 hours a day required

Preferred / Desired
  • Millwright or Electrician certificate
  • Need to be able to work in a fast paced, high-speed environment, follow standardized work, and adhere to safe work practices in a continuous improvement environment
  • Proficient with the use of shop equipment including mills, lathes, grinders and welders
  • The ability to work with components that are in constant motion along an assembly line without adverse effects
  • The ability to work on a team of co-workers in close proximity to each other
  • The ability to make timely decisions and provide feedback to each other
  • Have a strong desire for personal and professional development
