Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain machines that extrude or draw thermoplastic materials.
  • Set-up and operate machine per procedures and customer requirements.
  • Monitor machinery for jams and equipment failures; troubleshoot process equipment.
  • Perform start-up, setup, and shutdown of process equipment; calibrate as needed.
  • Maintain a clean, organized work area and complete safety/quality paperwork.

Set-up and operate machine in accordance with established procedures, guidelines, and customer requirements.Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures.Ability to safely operate an Extruder(s); ability to perform screen changes as needed.Constantly monitor all machinery for jams and possible mechanical failure.Effectively troubleshoot all process equipment.Perform operations required for machine start-up, set-up, and shutdown of process equipment.Perform a wide variety of machine adjustments and line changes requiring a high degree of precision and judgment.Complete all required production safety and quality paperwork on a regular basis.Maintain quality level through inspection as produced and notify supervisor or manager of any quality issues.Communicate equipment issues to Maintenance personnel, both orally and through the use of the maintenance work order system.Maintain clean work area ensuring that assigned work area is clean and organized before leaving shift; demonstrate efficient housekeeping skills.Assure presence of all appropriate packaging and production related materials on a daily basis.Demonstrate knowledge of plant emergency procedures.Demonstrate knowledge of all “E-stops" on the lines.Perform other related functions and duties as assigned or required.QualificationsHigh school diploma or GED equivalent.Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.Minimum of two (2) years experience in Liners.Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills.Ability to read and write legibly in English to complete required forms and verify quality products are produced.Must have good vision, eye-hand coordination, and hearing.Ability to adhere to Amcor's Safety, Health, and Environmental Vision, Policy, and Standards.Ability to work overtime, holidays, weekends, days, or nights for 12 or more hours.Ability to stand, sit, kneel, bend, stoop, climb, reach, and crawl for extended periods multiple times per day.Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted.Must have manual dexterity involving total wrist action, twisting, pulling, and raising arms at or above shoulder height.Ability to work in warm, humid, and cool climates for 12 or more hours per day or night.Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) which includes safety glasses, safety goggles, hearing protection, steel toe shoes/boots, face shield, gloves, and face mask.Ability to operate a forklift and maintain a forklift operator license.Additional InfoWe have employment opportunities for Machine Operators (extrusion/conversion) in Montgomery, Alabama at a pay range of $18.21- $19.39 per hour.Our ExpectationsWe expect our people to be guided by The Amcor Way and demonstrate our Values every day to enable the business to win.
