Job summary

Oldcastle APG in Milford, VA is seeking a Dryer Operator to safely manage the dryer and conveying equipment in the drying process. You will start up, adjust parameters, and clean equipment, while also safely operating a front-end loader to support production.

Ideal candidates have a High School Diploma or GED and at least 1 year as a Production Worker; forklift certification is preferred. Role requires lifting up to 100 lbs and routine maintenance in a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Minimum 1 year as a Production Worker in related position or industry.
• Forklift Certification preferred.
• Exposure to airborne particles, moving parts, forklifts and noise in a manufacturing setting.
• Occasional stairs and ladders; frequent lifting up to 100 lbs.
• Able to operate a forklift and maintain manual dexterity and stamina.

Responsibilities

• Read job specs to determine machine adjustments and material needs.
• Observe dryer operation and adjust parameters to maintain set levels.
• Fill material bins to meet daily production schedules.
• Receive bulk truckloads of aggregates from outside carriers.
• Operate a front end loader to fill bulk silos and perform routine maintenance.
• Startup machinery for daily production and keep areas tidy and safe.

Job Summary

Dryer Operators are responsible for the safe and efficient operation of a Dryer and associated conveying equipment in the drying process. Duties include start-up, operation, adjustment to proper parameters, and cleaning of the equipment and work area. As well as the safe operation of front-end loader.

Job Responsibilities

• Read job specifications to determine machine adjustments and material requirements
• Observe dryer operation and performs adjustments to maintain set parameters
• Fill material bins as needed to meet daily production schedules
• Receive bulk truckloads of aggregates from outside carriers
• Operate a front end loader to fill bulk material silos
• Perform routine machine maintenance
• Startup machinery for daily production
• Make sure all housekeeping is maintained in a clear and orderly fashion in assigned areas
• Other duties and responsibilities related to the nature of the job may be assigned on a temporary or permanent basis as needed

Job Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• A minimum of 1 year as a Production Worker in related position or industry
• Forklift Certification Preferred
• Constant work performed in a manufacturing facility with exposure to airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, forklifts and noise
• Occasional ability to climb stairs and ladders
• Frequent ability to lift and gather bags weighing up to 100 lbs.
• Constant work performed while driving a forklift
• Constant good manual dexterity, multi-limb coordination and stamina

• The hourly pay is $20-$22 based on experience
