Machine Operator – Automated SMT Lines

Machine Operators on our Automated SMT lines are responsible for setting up and safely operating equipment such as Laser engravers, Screen printers, SMT Placement machines, SMT Reflow ovens, laser etchers, and packaging robots. They also monitor and operate in-process automated inspection and testing equipment to ensure only the highest quality products are shipped from our Manchester NH facilities.

Responsibilities include:

• Setting up and operating automated and semi-automated electronics manufacturing equipment, including serial number etchers, screen printers, SMT placement machines, reflow ovens, laser depanelers, and packaging robots.
• Conducting in-process inspections and electrical testing of PCBA products using automated systems like SPI, AOI, ICT, and component programming.
• Executing all process controls per Sanmina SOPs and training programs.
• Managing raw materials such as solder paste, PWBs, and components, ensuring correct materials are used.
• Monitoring production, inspection, and test equipment, and addressing issues promptly to minimize downtime.
• Escalating equipment or material issues to engineering or supervisors for resolution.
• Troubleshooting and properly using all conveyors, board flippers, and related equipment.
• Utilizing the SANMINA 42Q MES system for routing, traceability, labeling, and performance monitoring.
• Managing non-conforming materials appropriately.
• Completing all SOP training and executing 5S and safety protocols, including ESD procedures.
• Handling waste responsibly, including hazardous waste, as per SOPs.

Education and Experience:

• High School diploma or GED.
• Experience as a Machine Operator required.
• Minimum of 6 months manufacturing experience.
• Preferred: 6 months electronics manufacturing experience, EMS experience, and SMT operator experience.
