Job summary

Greystone, Inc. in Lincoln, RI is seeking an Experienced Machinist or Machine Operator to join our team. This role requires precision, strong reading of blueprints, and ability to program and operate a variety of advanced machines on 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shifts.

You will ensure high-quality production, perform routine maintenance, inspect parts with precision tools, and collaborate with engineers to optimize processes while following safety guidelines.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience as a Machinist or Machine Operator.
• High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical education or certification in machining is a plus.
• Ability to read blueprints, engineering drawings, and specifications.
• Operate precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
• Knowledge of workplace safety procedures.
• Experience with specified machines and SPC techniques.
• Proficiency in troubleshooting and machine maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain Schutte Machines, Multi-spindle screw machines, Multi-spindle CNC machines, and Hydromat rotary transfer machines.
• Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and specifications to determine machining operations.
• Adjust machine controls to ensure optimal performance and adherence to specifications.
• Monitor machine operations to detect malfunctions or deviations from standards and make necessary adjustments.
• Perform routine maintenance on machines to ensure proper functioning and minimize downtime.
• Inspect finished products for accuracy, quality, and adherence to specifications, using precision measuring instruments.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues that arise during the machining process, such as tool wear or material irregularities.
• Collaborate with team members, including engineers and supervisors, to optimize production processes and achieve production goals.
• Follow established safety guidelines and maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Document production activities, including machine settings, tool changes, and quality control measurements.
