Shift Details:
- 2nd Shift Schedule: Monday-Thursday, 3:30pm - 2:00am
- Overtime Schedule: Fridays (Time will vary)
Job Description/Key Responsibilities:
- Cross-train and become proficient at all three MMP assembly-line positions.
- Insert the bottom die cuts, pleated-inserts, and/or top die cuts into pallet-pans as they pass by on a moving conveyor.
- Perform daily one of the three MMP-line assembly positions or the inspector/boxer position.
- Inspect and repair filters as they exit the conveyor-slide, ensuring the label matches the contents in the carton.
- Assist other Operators with size-changeovers and help clean the machine sections during change-overs.
- Remove hood-jams as needed and help clean excess glue from inside the hood.
- Help prevent hood-jams by cleaning glue build-up from the gluer and assembly-pans throughout the shift.
- Make minor machine adjustments and repairs to ensure good quality filters; contact the MMP Lead or maintenance for other issues.
- Monitor and fill die-cut holders-feeders to prevent shortages.
- Verify that the delivered inserts are of the correct media and pleat-count.
- Monitor the cold-glue level to maintain proper glue levels.
- Empty and clean cold-glue pans at shift's end or as needed.
- Assist in training new MMP Operators/Assemblers.
- Learn the types of ZL media and filters, including their colors, media types, widths, and pleat counts.
- Cross-train on other jobs within the Z-Line department and the plant as required.
- Be flexible with organizational and departmental procedure changes.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Participate in departmental and plant Lean projects.
- Comply with all safety policies, including PPE requirements.
- Be aware of LOCK-OUT/TAG-OUT procedures and recognize LOTO situations.
- Review the BWP's of trained or cross-trained jobs/positions.
Helpful Knowledge, Skills, Experience, & Motivation Factors:
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to read and write English for production reports and work orders.
- Basic math skills.
- Ability to read a tape measure to 1/16".
- Ability to read, write, and understand fractions to 1/16".
- Ability to multi-task.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs alone; use lifts for heavier materials.
- Ability to stand, bend, and reach for most of the workday.
