Job summary

Sonoco Products Company in Fremont, IN is seeking a Machine Operator to run inline thermoforming machines and set up tooling per job specs on the 2nd shift.

You will perform routine maintenance, troubleshoot quality issues, move materials, and package finished goods while maintaining a safe, productive work area. Starting pay is $18.00 hourly plus $2.00 differential. Schedule is 3:00pm-11:30pm; prior production experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Sets up inline thermoforming machines per job specifications.
• Sets up offline presses per job specifications.
• Operates thermoforming machines to maintain continuous production.
• Performs troubleshooting and quality checks.
• Performs routine maintenance on equipment.
• Works with Floor Workers to resolve quality issues.
• Retrieves and moves materials including work in-process, raw materials and tooling.
• Packages finished goods per specification.
• Maintains a safe, clean and organized work area.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Engages thermoforming machines and presses to produce parts and to maintain continuous operation
• Performs troubleshooting and quality checks
• Performs routine maintenance on equipment.
• Works with Floor Workers to resolve any quality issues as needed
• Retrieves and moves materials; including work in-process, raw material and tooling
• Makes boxes and completes finished goods packaging per specification
• Maintains a safe, clean and organized work area
• Performs other work duties or functions as assigned

Summary

With little or no supervision, sets-up the proper form tooling needed in the inline thermoforming machines and operates the machines per job specifications to maintain continuous production.
