Job summary

Mohawk Industries in Garner, NC is seeking a dedicated production operator to support our global flooring operation. You will operate printing/coating equipment and assist with daily production tasks, adhering to safety SOPs and PPE requirements.

The role emphasizes maintaining product quality, recording data, performing preventive maintenance, and participating in changeovers and housekeeping to keep lines running smoothly.

Qualifications

• Experience operating production equipment in a manufacturing setting.
• Ability to follow safety SOPs including Lockout/Tagout.
• Commitment to quality and data accuracy.
• Willingness to perform housekeeping and support maintenance tasks.

Responsibilities

• Operate and assist with production equipment per direction.
• Follow safety SOPs and PPE requirements.
• Analyze issues and apply corrective actions to maintain quality.
• Perform equipment changeovers or conversions as needed.
• Check and measure product to specifications, inspect for defects.
• Operate, repair, clean, and lubricate equipment for continuous production.
• Record data with gauges and instruments and report findings.
• Perform preventive maintenance inspections and address findings.
• Complete maintenance work orders as required.
• Notify supervisor of recurring malfunctions and defective product
• Attend job-related training and follow SOPs.
• Carry out housekeeping duties and other tasks as assigned.

• Operate Printer/Coater equipment and assist with production activities as directed.
• Understand and comply with all safety SOPs and work instructions, including Lockout/Tagout, chemical handling, machine guarding, housekeeping, and required PPE.
• Analyze mechanical or operational issues, determine root causes, and take corrective action to maintain product quality and equipment performance.
• Perform equipment changeovers or conversions by setting up assigned machinery for changes in material, size, or product.
• Check, test, and measure product to ensure it meets all quality specifications, and inspect for visual defects.
• Operate, repair, clean, and lubricate equipment as needed to maintain continuous production.
• Examine, test, and measure product from assigned equipment using appropriate gauges and instruments, and record all required data.
• Conduct preventive maintenance inspections on assigned equipment, report findings, and take appropriate corrective action.
• Complete maintenance work orders as required.
• Notify the supervisor of recurring equipment malfunctions, corrective actions taken, and any defective product resulting from equipment issues.
• Attend all job-related training as required by supervision.
• Follow all established standard operating procedures.
• Perform general housekeeping duties as necessary.
• Carry out other tasks assigned by management.
