Job summary

Simpson Strong-Tie is hiring a Machine Operator in Gallatin, TN. This full-time hourly role involves reading blueprints, inspecting products, and maintaining machines. You will perform tool changes, troubleshoot equipment, and drive a forklift for material handling.

The shift runs Monday–Thursday with overtime as needed. We value safety, reliability, and teamwork, with a focus on producing quality components for structural connectors and solutions.

Responsibilities

• Using blueprints to perform visual product inspections and verify conformance to print specifications.
• Changing tools and adjusting machine back to proper specifications.
• Performing housekeeping and daily machine maintenance and troubleshooting manufacturing issues.
• Driving a forklift to retrieve raw material or deliver finished products to outbound staging area.

YOU

As Machine Operator, you will have the ability to perform required tasks to keep equipment running. Perform minor set ups and troubleshoot equipment issues. This position reports directly to the Department Manager and is supported by the department’s Team Lead(s).

This position works Monday through Thursday 5:00am – 3:30pm with overtime as needed.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Using blueprints to do visual product inspections to verify conformance to print specifications and tracking conformance using the Screw MFG Inspection sheet and SPC program (40%)
• Changing tools and adjusting machine back to proper specification (30%)
• Performing housekeeping/daily machine maintenance and troubleshooting manufacturing issues (20%)
• Driving a forklift to retrieve raw material or deliver finished products to outbound staging area (10%)

PAY

$25.00 - $29.09 / hour

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, see, talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit. This role operates large equipment while standing for approximately 8-12 hours, regularly twisting, and bending in a repetitive motion. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may frequently lift, carry, push, and pull materials and objects weighing up to 50 pounds, and heavier weights with proper equipment.
