Job summary

Victrex Manufacturing Limited in Bristol, Rhode Island, is seeking a Machine Operator for the second shift (3:00pm–11:30pm) to operate processing equipment and support the production schedule while upholding safety and quality standards.

You will set up equipment, monitor processes, perform routine quality checks, troubleshoot issues, and assist with changeovers. A proactive attitude to safety and continuous improvement is essential, with prior manufacturing experience preferred.

  • Experience applying best‑practice safety standards and continuous improvement methods.

  • Setting up equipment, tooling, raw materials, conveyors, and packaging systems.
  • Preparing machinery for production, including pre‑heating tools and loading programmes.
  • Monitoring production processes to ensure quality and safety standards are met.
  • Conducting routine quality checks and submitting production samples.
  • Troubleshooting equipment issues, performing first‑line maintenance, and supporting emergency shutdowns when required.
  • Completing equipment shutdowns and changeovers in line with the production schedule.

Job description

We are seeking a Machine Operator to join our manufacturing site in Bristol, Rhode Island.

Shift Pattern:

  • Second Shift: 3:00pm - 11:30pm, Monday to Friday

  • Shift premium paid for hours worked on second shift

What You'll Be Doing

As a Machine Operator, you will be responsible for operating a range of processing equipment to support the production schedule whilst maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and efficiency.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Setting up equipment, tooling, raw materials, conveyors, and packaging systems

  • Preparing machinery for production, including pre‑heating tools and loading programmes

  • Monitoring production processes to ensure quality and safety standards are met

  • Conducting routine quality checks and submitting production samples

  • Troubleshooting equipment issues, performing first‑line maintenance, and supporting emergency shutdowns when required

About You

We're looking for a motivated and reliable individual who can work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively. You will have:

  • Strong mechanical aptitude

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • A proactive approach to safety and continuous improvement

  • Experience within a manufacturing environment (preferred)

  • Experience applying best‑practice safety standards and continuous improvement methods
