Job summary

Batavia Container, Inc. is seeking a reliable Machine Operator in Batavia, IL. You will follow safety requirements, input PDE data, perform machine setup, start-up, operation and shutdown tasks, and help maintain clean, organized work zones.

You will inspect sheets for quality, lead Assistant Operators, manage color/print when applicable, and adhere to food safety programs, OSHA and PPE. The role requires a proactive, detail-oriented team player with a high school diploma.

Qualifications

• Basic mechanical skills.
• Basic proof-reading and math skills.
• High school education or equivalent; corrugated industry knowledge preferred.

Responsibilities

• Follow and support safety requirements within the facility.
• Document and input Production Data Entry (PDE).
• Responsible for machine cleaning and zone housekeeping procedures for the assigned work area.
• Maximize machine utilization by adhering to standards of operation.
• Strive to generate quality production.
• Inspect incoming sheets for quality, correct size, board grade and caliper.
• Lead Assistant Machine Operators by guiding them in set-up, start-up, operation, and shutdown tasks.
• Color/print management where applicable.
• Support and adhere to required procedures and work instructions including food safety programs, OSHA regulations and PPE.
• Perform all other duties as assigned by Plant Manager.
