Machine Operators play a crucial role in manufacturing and production processes by operating and maintaining various types of machinery and equipment The following job description outlines the responsibilities and skill sets required for machine operators at three different levels The below description is for Machine Operator I
HOURS
1030 pm 700 am Sunday Thursday with overtime as needed
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential function
- As a Machine Operator I your primary responsibility will be to operate various machines in development to become a Machine Operator II
- Operate assigned machinery under direct supervision
- Load raw materials into machines and monitor the production process
- Perform basic machine setups and adjustments as instructed
- Conduct routine inspections to ensure machinery is functioning properly
- Troubleshoot and resolve minor machine issues or notify supervisors
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean work area
- Record production data and maintain accurate logs
- Complete assigned tasks within given timeframes
- Maintain continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions irregularities and continuing needs
- Maintain good housekeeping and regularly clean work area machines and equipment
- Identify and contribute to continuous improvement efforts to reduce costs or increase productivity without reducing effectiveness
- Maintain an open and candid working relationship with immediate supervisormanager in discussing matters of importance
- Adhere to established company values practices policies and procedures at all times
- Follow and support compliance with all applicable safety rules laws regulations and standards
- Demonstrate regular and punctual attendance at the assigned work location
MARGINAL FUNCTIONS

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Knowledge of mechanical electrical and electronic systems
- Proficient in reading technical manuals schematics and diagrams
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem solving skills
- Familiarity with hand and power tools
- Operate a computerPC proficiency; use spreadsheets and reporting software effectively
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Basic mechanical aptitude
- Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team
- Good communication and problem solving skills
- Attention to detail and ability to work in a fast paced environment
- Basic computer literacy for data entry and equipment monitoring
PHYSICAL DEMANDS OF ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Remain in a stationary position when performing line operations
- Regularly move about when moving along the line as needed to perform job duties
- Transport products and materials weighing up to 58 pounds when moving products to the line and or emptying boxes to the load area
- Manipulate products on pallets using force of up to 35 pounds
- Position oneself to retrieve products or materials from ground level
- Reach forward and overhead when inspecting product and moving pallets
- Ascenddescend stairsladders to access the machine catwalk and when climbing over machineryline
- Position and handle product boxes and pallets
- Perceive the nature of sounds and have the ability to exchange detailed information while performing job duties in a manufacturing plant where noise level is moderate to high
ENVIROMENTAL CONDITIONS
