Maintenance Mechanic Job Duties
  • Ensure operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance on pneumatic and hydraulic equipment, conveyor systems, and production machines; follow diagrams, sketches, manuals, and specifications, and troubleshoot malfunctions.
  • Locate sources of problems by observing mechanical devices, listening for issues, and using precision measuring and testing instruments.
  • Remove defective parts by dismantling devices; use hoists, cranes, hand and power tools.
  • Determine changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts; use calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.
  • Adjust functional parts of devices and control instruments with hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, and straightedges.
  • Fabricate repair parts using machine shop instrumentation and equipment.
  • Conserve maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
  • Provide mechanical maintenance information by answering questions.
  • Maintain technical knowledge by attending educational workshops or other required training.
  • Maintain continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Able to work 12‑hour rotating shifts, nights, weekends, and holidays when needed.
  • Available to work overtime hours.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • Minimum of two years industrial or automotive mechanic experience.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Excellent attendance record.
  • Excellent safety record.
