Job summary

Stratasys in Eden Prairie, MN seeks a Machine Maintenance Technician II for the 3rd shift (Sun-Thurs, 9:45 PM–6:15 AM) to maintain, repair and optimize production equipment. You will perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot complex issues, replace parts, and document activities to minimize downtime.

The role requires robust electrical/mechanical skills, PLC knowledge, and the ability to train juniors while collaborating with engineering and production teams.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in electrical or mechanical trade or 4 years of applicable work experience in lieu of education.
• 4+ years of related experience in a maintenance role.
• Proven experience as a Machine Maintenance Technician in manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Lead routine inspections and preventive maintenance on production equipment.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose malfunctions, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
• Perform repairs and replace defective parts with hand and power tools.
• Collaborate with production to optimize machine performance and minimize downtime.
• Maintain records of maintenance activities and inventory of spare parts.
• Lead training of junior maintenance technicians and assist engineering with new equipment.

TheMachine Maintenance Technician II will be responsible for ensuring the optimal functioning, repair, and maintenance of production machinery and equipment. Your primary focus will be to minimize downtime, enhance efficiency, perform electrical or mechanical troubleshooting and contribute to the overall success of the manufacturing process.

Location: Eden Prairie, MN

Schedule: 3rd Shift, Sunday-Thursday 9:45 pm - 6:15 am

What you will be doing:

• Lead routine inspections and preventive maintenance, including scheduling, on manufacturing equipment to identify and address potential issues before they escalation
• Troubleshoot and diagnose malfunctions in machinery, using a systematic approach to identify root causes and implement corrective actions
• Perform repairs and replace defective parts as needed, utilizing a variety of hand and power tools
• Collaborate with and provide recommendations to the production team to optimize machine performance and minimize downtime
• Identify and implement improvements to enhance the efficiency and reliability of manufacturing equipment
• Participate in equipment upgrades and modifications as required
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, equipment manuals, and inventory of spare parts
• Generate reports on machine performance, maintenance activities, and any issues encountered
• Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines while performing maintenance tasks
• Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards for machine safety and operation
• Track outstanding equipment orders and communicate updates to management
• Lead the training of junior maintenance technicians and provide guidance as needed
• Assist engineering with the purchase and installation of new equipment

Must have for this role:

• Associate’s degree in electrical or mechanical trade or 4 years of applicable work experience in lieu of education
• 4+ years of related experience
• Proven experience as a Machine Maintenance Technician or similar role, preferably in a manufacturing environment
• Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to think critically to solve complex problems
• Experience reading and interpreting technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics
• Experience with various hand and power tools to perform the job
• Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems
• Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and other automation systems
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong verbal and written communication skills

Nice to have:

• Vocational training in machine maintenance or related technical fields is preferred
• Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
• Forklift preferred experience

For this position, the typical starting pay rate is from $28 to $32 per hour, which does not include variable incentive pay. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. Your individual base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, geographical location, and/or experiences.
