Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 3 years experience in the same or similar industry.
  • Ability to read blueprints and schematics.

Responsibilities

  • Repair and perform mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and CNC repairs as needed.
  • Perform work order repairs, inspections and adjustments in a timely fashion.
  • Fabrication and modification of new and existing equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and repair defective equipment including CNC machinery, presses, plasma cutters, etc.
  • Gather and maintain a complete set of required tools (calipers, meters, etc.).
  • Utilize diagnostic tools to define problem areas and assist with resolution.
  • Follow safety policies and participate in safety programs to improve uptime and equipment life.
  • Adhere to government regulations relating to powered equipment and train team members on setup and operation.

Position Summary

The Maintenance Machine Technician is responsible for high quality and effective repair of equipment, will also work independently and with other plant personnel to perform preventative, predictive and routine maintenance tasks. Will troubleshoot issues, repair failures of production and facilities equipment, and ensure maximum equipment efficiency and effectiveness. Provides excellent customer service, maintains professionalism, and ensures appropriate and detail records for time, parts, supplies, purchases and repairs.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Previous experience doing maintenance on industrial equipment and strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Repair and perform mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and CNC repairs such as replace control devices, switches, photo eyes, proximity sensors, pushbuttons, contactors, motor starters, etc. as needed
  • Perform work order repairs, inspections and adjustments in a timely fashion.
  • Fabrication and modification of new and existing equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and repair defective equipment including CNC Machinery, Presses, Plasma Cutters, etc.
  • Gather and maintain a complete set of required tools, including calipers, electrical meters and other diagnostic and measurement devices.
  • Utilize diagnostic tools and techniques to define problem areas and assist with resolution.
  • Recommend improvements and/or changes to PM systems/tasks when applicable
  • Follow standard practices and all governmental regulations and laws relating to powered equipment. Train team members on set up, lock out, and operation fabrication equipment.
  • Adhere to all safety policies and procedures and participate in safety programs to improve operational uptime and equipment life.
  • Prefer background in mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, CNC and overall machine troubleshooting skills.
  • Familiarity with industrial tools and equipment
  • Other duties as assigned
Accountability
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures.
  • All employees are accountable for safety and health and are empowered to stop work if an unsafe condition is present. Employees should immediately notify their supervisor so that the hazard may be corrected.
  • RK Mechanical employees and subcontractors are required to implement and maintain all safety and health systems practices including the training requirements of RK Mechanical Orientation, shop specific orientation, CPR/First Aid/AED/Bloodborne Pathogens, Hazard Identification and Reporting, and OSHA 30.
Minimum Physical Requirements
  • Work outside, inside, and in dusty, noisy and hazardous areas.
  • Work in high places, tight places, confined spaces and/or other adverse locations.
  • Climb, balance, squat, kneel and crouch.
  • Work in all types of weather.
  • Must have working knowledge of all trade materials and tools.
  • Ability to lift, move, and/or carry 50 lbs.
  • Ability to climb up and down and maintain balance on stairs, ladders and scaffolds while carrying tools and equipment.
  • Ability to use arms and hands to reach, handle or manipulate and install heavy objects and materials.
Qualifications
  • Fully competent in all conventional aspects of subject matter or functional area.
  • Plans and conducts work requiring judgment in independent evaluation, selection and substantial adaptation/modification of standards.
  • Devises new solutions to problems encountered.
  • Independently performs most assignments with instruction
  • Receives guidance for unusual or complex problems and supervisor approval for changes in standards.
  • High School diploma, GED or vocational training/certification.
  • 3 years experience on the same or similar industry.
