Job summary

Eagle Claw Fishing Tackle in Denver, CO is seeking a skilled Equipment Maintenance Technician to keep production machinery in peak condition. The role focuses on disassembly and assembly, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting electrical and mechanical systems, and ensuring blueprints are followed for accurate part fabrication.

Shift Hours: Wednesday - Saturday 6:00am - 4:30pm; benefits include 401k, medical/dental/vision, life insurance, disability, and paid time off.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of equipment maintenance in a production facility.
• Minimum of 1 year of machine shop training and/or machine shop experience.
• Good mechanical aptitude and basic machining skills.
• Experience maintaining electrical and mechanical systems/equipment.
• Able to read, write and perform arithmetic for blueprints and calculations.
• Must provide own mechanic’s hand tools including precision measuring tools.
• Adheres to safety and housekeeping regulations.

Position Purpose

To maintain and repair all production equipment. To keep machinery and equipment in good working condition.

Essential Duties

• Disassemble and assemble production equipment for replacement of worn or broken parts to include machine heads and tables.
• Perform preventative maintenance on equipment by cleaning, lubricating and/or replacing broken or worn parts.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical equipment.
• Use precise measuring tools to verify conformance of parts to blueprint specifications.
• Fabricate parts to blueprint presses and various types of power tools.
• Rebuild and repair other production equipment.
• Replace and/or repair electrical devices and equipment up to 480 volts. To include motors, proximity switches, light curtains etc.
• Familiar with and able to diagnose problems associated with pneumatic, hydraulic switches / solenoids and proximity switch activation systems.
• Keeps work area and machine tools clean and free of debris.
• Performs skilled and/or less skilled work in the department or other areas of the Company as directed. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Knowledge/Skills and Experience

• Three to five years of equipment maintenance experience in a production facility required.
• Additionally, minimum of one year of machine shop training and/or machine shop experience preferred.
• Possess good mechanical aptitude and basic machining skills.
• Must have demonstrated experience with maintaining electrical and mechanical systems and equipment.
• Able to read, write and do basic arithmetic functions to read blueprints and make mathematical calculations.
• Must provide own mechanic’s hand tools that may include machinist’s precision measuring tools.
• Observes all safety and good housekeeping regulations of the department and/or the Company. Department safety consists of wearing safety glasses, safety shoes, hearing protection, and no loose-fitting clothing that could get caught in machinery.
• Successfully complete an initial program of classroom instruction regarding the nature of handling, storage & treatment of hazardous material including all pertinent regulations.
• Position may require Level I or Level II hazardous materials handling.

Physical Environment and Working Conditions

• Able to work in a factory environment with mechanical noise from production machinery.
• When required, able to perform repairs or installations on rooftops or outdoors in inclement weather.
• Requires the ability to climb and safely work from ladders up to 15 ft.
• Able to stand/walk for up to 12 hours a day.
• Must be physically able to lift 30 lbs. frequently and up to 50 lbs. occasionally.Able to work near oils, solvents, and chemicals used in production equipment.
• Reach above head and shoulders to replace and/or repair equipment.
• Able to twist, bend, stoop and crouch to work in confined spaces such as tanks, furnaces and closets.
• Must be mentally alert to constant hazards of machinery and chemicals.
• Must attend Confined Space Entry Training Program and take corresponding physical examination if needed.
• Required to wear hearing protection and participate in hearing conservation program.
• Must be able to wear safety protection equipment such as, but not limited to, steel toed shoes, safety glasses w/ side shields, aprons, gloves and protective sleeves.
