Job summary

Activision Central Tech is seeking a Machine Learning Research Engineer to join the RICOCHET Anti-Cheat team. You will develop and improve ML detections, run experiments, and partner with design, engineering, and production teams to detect and prevent cheating across Call of Duty titles.

You will work with data, ETL, statistics, and ML to secure online play, collaborating with game designers and engineers to identify new opportunities and validate model impact.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or equivalent in data science, CS, math, statistics, or related field.
• 3+ years applying data science/ML to real problems with measurable impact.
• Experience handling large data for production use.
• Experience building, evaluating, improving ML models in production.
• Proficient in Python and ML libraries (PySpark, Pandas, XGBoost, PyTorch).
• Strong data analysis and experimentation skills, including SQL.
• Experience with supervised/unsupervised/deep learning techniques.
• Strong communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Able to learn from senior team members and contribute to team growth.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate on ML projects to improve detection, prevention, and response to cheating.
• Run experiments and analyses to validate models and measure impact on players.
• Communicate results, impediments, and impact to the team and stakeholders.
• Work with game designers, engineers, and producers to identify anti-cheat opportunities.
• Stay updated on advances in ML, anti-cheat tech, and statistics.
• Learn from experts and seek mentorship across the team.
