Job summary

Kensho, the S&P Global hub for AI innovation, invites interns to join the ML Engineer team in Cambridge or NYC to build a cutting-edge GenAI platform and related tooling like Kensho Extract. You’ll work on real-world ML problems, with mentorship and collaboration across engineering, product, and design.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree or higher with relevant ML coursework or internships.
• Experience designing and iterating on agentic systems and evaluating agent performance.
• Experience with advanced machine learning methods.
• Statistical knowledge and experience modeling real data.
• Proficiency in Python and Python-based ML frameworks (e.g., LangGraph, Pydantic AI, PyTorch).
• Demonstrated coding, documentation, and communication habits.
• Strong ability to communicate complex methods/results to non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Solve challenges in agent design and LLM orchestration, including context engineering and memory management.
• Lead a project to prototype, build, and test ML models and pipeline components with guidance from senior engineers.
• Gain hands-on experience across the ML model lifecycle from framing to deployment support.
• Collaborate in a cross-functional team with ML Engineers, PMs, Designers, and Full-Stack Engineers with ongoing mentorship.

Kensho is looking for ML Engineer interns to join the group of Machine Learning Engineers working on developing a cutting-edge GenAI platform, LLM-powered applications, and fundamental AI toolkit solutions such as Kensho Extract. What You’ll Do:

• Solve unique challenges in agentic design and LLM orchestration, including context engineering, data access patterns, memory management, and evaluation of agent performance to ensure they meet user needs effectively.

• Lead a project to prototype, build, and test ML models and pipeline components under the guidance of senior engineers.

• Gain hands-on experience across the ML model lifecycle, from problem framing to model selection, pipeline development, evaluation, and deployment support.

• Work within a cross-functional team of ML Engineers, Product Managers, Designers, and Full-Stack Engineers while receiving active mentorship and continuous feedback.

• Expertise in Python and Python-based ML frameworks (e.g.,LangGraph, Pydantic AI, PyTorch)
