Job summary

Oscar is hiring a Founding Forward Deployed Engineer for its new division. The role is remote with potential team meetups in Northern California, focusing on ML engineering, model building, and AI infrastructure.

You will communicate with customers and own significant technical direction in a startup setting. Expect cross-functional collaboration with Engineering, Research, and AI labs, equity, PTO, and medical/dental/vision coverage as part of the package.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience as a Machine Learning Engineer.
• Experience building models with Python/PyTorch.
• Experience with Model Benchmarking and Evaluation.
• Experience shaping/building AI Infrastructure.
• Ability to work in a fast-moving startup environment.

Location: Remote, Northern California

An AI startup helping foundation model companies and Frontier Labs is hiring a Founding Forward Deployed Engineer for their new division. This role is looking for a Machine Learning Engineer, a model builder first, who can talk to customers. This role will have a direct line to the founders and is looking for a MLE who has extensive experience with Infrastructure, Benchmarks, Evaluation, and experience using Python/PyTorch ideally at a startup. This role is looking for 3+ years of experience and while this is a Forward Deployed role, they are looking for a Machine Learning Engineer as this is an engineering first role, not sales focused. As a founding FDE, you will help shape the technical direction of the business, offering significant ownership and the opportunity to lead a small team of contractors.

This is a fully Remote position but ideally looking for someone local to the Bay for team meetups. They are looking for a strong communicator and someone who enjoys collaborating cross functionally with Engineering, Research, and AI labs.
