Job summary

Warren Equipment Company in the United States is seeking a Machine Field Technician III to perform high-quality repair service on heavy equipment at customer sites. You will disassemble and repair components, run tests, provide accurate quotes, and mentor junior team members.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED (or 5–8 years related experience), CDL within 90 days, ability to read technical documents, and familiarity with diagnostic software and cranes. Travel up to 40% is expected.

• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating manuals, and write routine reports.
• Knowledge of database software, internet software, manufacturing software, and order processing systems.
• Must be at least 21 to operate field vehicle; may require DOT physical.
• Completion of Work Steps assessment and flexibility for shift work/overtime/on-call.
• Certification in air-conditioning is required.

Responsibilities

• Complete assigned jobs and tasks to meet flat rate times and re-do metric.
• Complete related paperwork and access databases required to complete job (work order, parts order, JSA, DBS, SIMS, SIS web, STW) accurately.
• Remove and install parts, disassemble and assemble components, and test and adjust assemblies with ability to self-monitor work quality.
• Demonstrate mastery of basic hand tools, air tools, precision measuring tools, laptops, diagnostic software, cranes and rigging equipment.
• Provide accurate quotes and pricing estimates to customers.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot problems, recommend repairs, and perform critical machine and engine repairs and adjustments.
• Apply failure analysis procedures to determine proper diagnosis.
• Test and verify correct operation of all repairs and adjustments.
• Mentor Machine team members.

The Machine Field Technician III is responsible for providing high quality repair service on equipment, in order to respond to customer needs in a positive, caring and timely manner and to ensure maximum value for work performed.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

• Complete assigned jobs and task to meet flat rate times and re-do metric.

• Complete related paperwork and access databases required to complete job (work order, parts order, JSA, DBS, SIMS, SIS web, STW) accurately and timely.

• Remove and install parts, disassemble and assemble components, and test and adjust assemblies with ability to self-monitor work quality.

• Mastery level knowledge of basic hand tools, air tools, precision measuring tools and instruments, lap tops, diagnostic software and cranes and rigging equipment.

• This position requires the ability to provide accurate quotes and pricing estimates to the customer.

• Diagnose and troubleshoot problems, give recommendations for repairs and make all critical machine and engine repairs and adjustments.

• Apply specific failure analysis and procedures in determining proper diagnosis.

• Test and verify correct operation of all repairs and adjustments.

• Mentor Machine team members.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or five to eight years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Must be able to obtain or currently possess adequate tooling to perform duties.

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals and write routine reports and correspondence.

• Knowledge of Database software; Internet software; Manufacturing software and Order processing systems.

• Clean driving record and ability to obtain CDL within 90 days of hire for field assignment, must be at least 21 years old to be assigned and operate field vehicle.

• May be required to complete a DOT physical.

• Successfully complete Work Steps assessment.

• Flexibility to work various schedules including shift work, required overtime and on call.

• Must be certified in air-conditioning.
