Job summary

Siemens Healthineers is seeking a Machine Design Intern to help develop medical product designs from concept through Design V&V and to assist in creating 2D/3D files using SolidWorks. You will develop prototypes to verify manufacturability and support cross-functional teams with issue management.

The role suits a motivated student pursuing an engineering degree, with hands-on design exposure and a chance to grow technically in a global healthcare environment.

Qualifications

• SolidWorks, PDM, FEA, Kinematics, 3D Printing, Mechanical system troubleshooting.
• Currently enrolled in an Engineering degree program, majoring in Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronics.
• Minimum 3.0 GPA (preferred).

Responsibilities

This is a role well suited for a highly motivated student looking to build their skill set and gain hands-on experience. As a Machine Design Intern, you will be responsible for:

• Understand Medical product design lifecycle from concept to Design V&V.
• Assist with creating 2D, 3D design files using SolidWorks.
• Develop prototypes to ensure Design for manufacturability aspects.
• Support Engagement Teams in Issue management and resolution.
• Provide assistance with engineering day to day tasks.

Thispositionmay suit you best ifyou are familiar with the areas and concepts below, and would like to develop your skills within Healthineers:

• A general understanding of Hardware design for Robotics application
• Previous projects, team competitions, or internships in mechanical design
• An understanding of general medical capital equipment design.

The base pay range for this position is: $59,100 - $86,680

Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

If this is a commission eligible position the commission eligibility will be in accordance with the terms of the Company's plan. Commissions are based on individual performance and/or company performance.
