Confidential Client in Metro Detroit, MI is seeking a hands-on Controls Engineer to design, develop, and support PLC and HMI systems for custom machinery. This is a high-impact engineering role that directly shapes how world-class machines are built and delivered.

You will collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and software teams, mentor junior engineers, define standards, and support commissioning with limited travel.

Qualifications

• Experience as a controls/automation engineer in capital equipment environments.
• Proficiency with PLC platforms (Rockwell, Siemens, or similar).
• Experience with HMI development, motion control, and industrial networks.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and hands-on mindset.
• Ability to communicate clearly with engineers, technicians and customers.

Responsibilities
