Job summary

MillerKnoll is seeking dedicated manufacturing talent to support our business growth. The role develops, constructs and alters fixtures, gauges and automated machines, performs tool room operations with close tolerances, and plans construction procedures to complete assignments.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must have a U.S. Department of Labor Journeyman's card and complete an apprenticeship program.
• Demonstrated technical aptitude and ability to read blueprints and models.
• Ability to work in a team and adapt to changing work schedules.
• Understanding of continuous improvement/lean processes.

Responsibilities

• Computes dimensions, determines machining methods and material or parts required.
• Operates and programs CNC equipment.
• Fabricates components and assembles tools, machines and fixtures by analyzing blueprints, sketches and models.
• Uses design tools, E-drawings/SolidWorks to complete machining and build tasks.
• Provides guidance to help develop team members in specific areas of expertise.
• Supports break downs and installations under tight deadlines.

GENERAL PURPOSE

Develops, constructs and alters a wide variety of fixtures, gauges and automated machines. Performs Tool Room operations involving extremely close tolerances. Plans construction procedures and methods to complete assignments as well as selecting proper materials.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Computes dimensions, determines machining methods and material or parts required.
• Continuously improve skill set.
• Demonstrated use of good judgement, balancing cost, quality and timing.
• Effectively uses design tools, E-drawings/Solidworks to complete machining and build tasks.
• Fabricates components and assembles tools, machines and fixtures by analyzing blueprints, sketches and models.
• Operates and programs CNC equipment.
• Performs precision work to exacting tolerance and dimensions, using a variety of hand and precision tools.
• Provide guidance and instruction to help develop team members in specific areas of expertise.
• Reviews designs, uses substitutions in material based on machinability or fabrication problems.
• Solves problems related to unusual materials, work holding arrangements, machine settings, fabrication methods or production process.
• Supports break downs, drop in jobs, and installations.
• Works effectively under extremely tight deadlines.
• Performs additional responsibilities as requested to achieve business objectives.

Education/Experience

Education/Experience - Not Parsed Other High school diploma or equivalent education required.

Licenses and Certifications

Must have a U.S. Department of Labor Journeyman's card and complete an apprenticeship program.

Skills and Abilities

Demonstrated technical aptitude is required for this position. Must be able to obtain appropriate licensing for any special equipment required for the position to include hilo/ personal cart. Ability to work in a team environment. Must have the flexibility to change work schedule to support break downs, drop-in jobs, and installations. Understanding of continuous improvement lean processes in preferred. Demonstrated ability to effectively use office automation, communication, software and tools used in the HMI operations environment. Must be able to perform all essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.
