Job summary

Burke Porter Machinery in Grand Rapids, MI is seeking a first shift Machine Builder to assemble machined and purchased components under the guidance of a Team Leader. You will work from assembly blueprints using hand and power tools and apply mechanical skills to build machine components.

The ideal candidate has strong measurement reading skills, understands blueprints, and can operate with minimal supervision on simple assemblies.

Qualifications

• Mechanical aptitude required.
• Ability to read and interpret precision measurements.
• Intermediate understanding of blueprints and schematics.
• Ability to comprehend job instructions.
• Knowledge of welding and fabrication a plus.
• Knowledge of heavy rigging a plus.
• Working knowledge of blueprints and schematics.
• Must be able to work independently on simple assemblies.

Responsibilities

• Builds components pertinent to the functions of the machines.
• Reads blueprints and schematics to ensure correct assembly.
• Wires junction boxes as needed.
• Assembles simple components with minimal supervision.

Burke Porter Machinery is seeking a first shift Machine Builder to join their team. The Machine Builder will be responsible for performing assembly of machined and/or purchased components under the guidance of a Team Leader. May work from machine assembly blueprints using hand and power tools. Must be mechanically inclined.

• Builds components pertinent to the functions of the machines
• Knowledge of measuring skills and accurately read precision measurements
• Intermediate understanding of blueprints and schematics
• Ability to comprehend job instructions
• Must possess basic hand tools
• Ability to wire junction boxes
• 5+ years of machine building experience
• Knowledge of welding, fabrication
• Knowledge of heavy rigging
• Working knowledge of blueprints, schematics
• Ability to work independently without supervision on simple assemblies
