Job summary

Novolex in Cedar Rapids is seeking a Machine Assembly technician to join our manufacturing team. You will assemble large packaging equipment, including subassemblies and wiring, with testing to ensure proper operation in a climate-controlled environment.

The role offers Monday–Friday, 7:00 am–3:30 pm shifts, with pay progression from $28.94 to $30.88 per hour over 12 months and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• A.A.S. in Industrial Maintenance Technology or 2–5 years' experience in mechanical or electrical maintenance or assembling capital equipment in a manufacturing environment preferred.
• WorkKeys Certification: National Career Readiness Certificate (Silver or higher) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assemble large commercial packaging equipment, including subassemblies and frame components.
• Connect electrical, mechanical and pneumatic parts and perform tests to ensure correct operation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Assemble large commercial consumer packaging equipment. This includes subassemblies as well as piece parts positioned in the frame of machine. The connection of electrical wires, mechanical, and pneumatic parts as required may include established testing of those parts for correct operation.

• High School Diploma or GED
• 2 year A.A.S Degree – Industrial Maintenance Technology, or 2-5 years’ experience in mechanical or electrical maintenance or assembling capital equipment in a manufacturing environment, preferred
