Job summary

Western States Envelope Company is seeking Set-Up Operators for its Butler, WI production team. You will set up and operate manufacturing equipment, perform routine inspections, and maintain quality production in a climate-controlled environment.

Responsibilities include adjusting machines for correct output, inspecting finished envelopes, and assisting with preventative maintenance. The role offers shift premiums on 2nd and 3rd shifts and opportunities in a long-standing, family-owned company.

Qualifications

• Experience setting up orders on a machine in a production/manufacturing facility.
• Ability to read specifications and verify samples.
• Basic maintenance and troubleshooting of manufacturing equipment.

Responsibilities

• Inspect product quality against guidelines.

We are hiring Set-Up Operators to join our production team! In this role, you'll be responsible for setting up and operating manufacturing equipment, making machine adjustments to ensure quality production, performing routine inspections, and completing basic maintenance. SHIFT OPPORTUNITIES:

• 2nd shift: Monday-Friday2:30pm-10:30pm +$1.50/hour shift premium
• 3rd Shift:Sunday-Thursday 10:30pm-6:30am +$2.00/hour shift premium

WHAT DOES MY WORKDAY LOOK LIKE IN THIS ROLE?

• Examines work orders to determine specifications and sample verification.
• Set up the machine per sample and order jacket specifications.
• Inspects product quality according to quality guidelines.
• Maintains accurate counts of envelopes to boxes, cartons, and skids.
• Adjusts machine and packs envelopes uniformly and neatly, keeping up with the machine's speed.
• Checks orders properly throughout production to ensure accurate labeling, printing, and packaging of products.
• Assists with removing paper jams and preventative maintenance when scheduled.
• Transports finished goods to the appropriate area.
• Ability to fill in as the Material Handler.

Qualifications: SUCCESSFUL PEOPLE IN THIS ROLE HAVE THE FOLLOWING SKILLS

• Prior experience SETTING UP ORDERS on a machine specifically in a production/manufacturing facility

• Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals is required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Prior Manufacturing experience setting up production orders on a machine using hand tools preferred.

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL & ENVIRONMENTAL FUNCTIONS

• Stamina & Mobility:Ability to stand and walk on concrete surfaces for the duration of a scheduled shift (8–12 hours). Must be able to frequently bend, reach, crouch, or stoop.
• Weight Requirements:Ability to lift up to 20 lbs. frequently and up to 50 lbs. occasionally from floor to waist and waist to shoulder.
• Manual Dexterity:Constant repetitive grasping and fine motor manipulation of paper materials and machine components.
• Range of Motion:Frequent twisting of the torso and lifting above shoulder height.
• Sensory/Vision:Must possess tactile/touch sensitivity in hands and digits. Near and far visual acuity, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus are required for quality control and safe machine operation.
• Work Environment:Ability to perform these functions in a manufacturing environment that may include high noise levels, varying temperatures, and paper dust.
