Job summary

MercyOne Centerville Clinic is seeking a part-time Medical Assistant (MA) to support the clinical team. You will assist physicians, prep patients, record vital signs, and carry out basic procedures to help deliver quality care.

This 20-hour weekly, day-shift role (M-F) requires completing an accredited MA program; MA Certification/Registration is preferred before hire and required within one year; LPN program completion and Iowa licensure are noted.

Qualifications

• Must have completed an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• MA Certification/Registration preferred prior to hire and required within one year.
• Must have completed an accredited LPN program and hold a LPN license in Iowa.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians and other providers in delivering patient care.
• Prepare patients and collect vital signs.
• Document patient information and maintain accurate medical records.
• Perform basic clinical procedures and coordinate patient flow.
• Contribute to a positive patient experience.

Supports the operation of the clinical practice by performing a variety of administrative and clinical tasks. This position is responsible for assisting physicians and other healthcare providers in delivering patient care through patient preparation, vital sign collection, documentation, and basic clinical procedures. The Medical Assistant also coordinates patient flow, maintaining accurate medical records, and ensuring a positive patient experience.

Required:

• Must have successfully completed accredited Medical Assistant program.
• MA Certification/Registration preferred prior to hire and required within one year.
• Must have successfully completed accredited LPN program.
• LPN License in the state of Iowa.
