MA/HCA PRN Varies - PRN Quivira Medical Pavilion A 12000W. 151stSt.

Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions
  • Accurately schedules tests; obtains films and reports; prepares laboratory specimens according to policy.
  • Assists physicians and/or nurses with special procedures and examinations as defined on the competency checklist.
  • Collaborates with members of the healthcare team in coordinating and implementing patient‑care plans; records elements of patient history for clinical staff review.
  • Electronically submits, calls and/or faxes prescriptions and refills to outpatient pharmacies.
  • Ensures data collected for completed procedures is recorded on appropriate forms and in the medical record.
  • Maintains medical records to ensure all required documentation is available, distributes reports and correspondence, files, photocopies, and processes forms related to medical charts.
  • Maintains orderliness and cleanliness of examination rooms; stocks assigned areas and ensures supplies are maintained; checks logs and equipment such as refrigerator logs, eyewash logs, and sputum or other required checks.
  • Performs clerical duties such as greeting patients; registration; scheduling; pre‑certification of tests, procedures, and medications; processing insurance forms; preparing financial records; answering phones; and entering ambulatory care charges.
  • Performs simple procedures as directed by the nurse or physician and as defined on the competency checklist.
  • Performs vital signs, height, weight, and screening procedures and documents results in the medical record.
  • Demonstrates the professional, clinical, and/or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department.
Required Education and Experience

High School Graduate.

Graduated from an accredited Medical Assistant program or has at least one year of experience as a Medical Assistant or CCMA/NCRMA certification.

Required Licensure and Certification

Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS or BCLS) – American Heart Association (AHA) within 14 days.

Preferred Licensure and Certification

Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) – National Healthcareer Association (NHA) or NCRMA.

Knowledge Requirements

Basic typing and word processing skills.
