Job summary

AV is seeking an M&S Integration Engineer in Huntsville, AL to support the Missile Defense Agency’s engineering directorate. You will participate in end-to-end integration for Ground Tests, Flight Tests, and CDI activities within a distributed HWIL simulation environment.

You will coordinate with the DES-I team, manage communications across labs, draft PERSTAT reports, and assist with scheduling resources for mission-critical test events. A SECRET clearance is required, with TS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manages M&S product configuration management for events, including CRs and on-console changes.

Modeling and Simulation (M&S) Integration Engineer

Overview

The M&S Integration Engineer will support the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) Engineering Directorate Modeling & Simulation (M&S) Office in the role of Integration Manager (IM) to test the Missile Defense System (MDS) in a distributed Hardware-In-the-Loop (HWIL) simulation environment, including MDS Ground Test (GT) events and MDS Flight Test support. Responsibilities include providing integration operations support to accomplish Continuous Developmental Integration (CDI) activities, Ground Test and Flight Test.

Responsibilities

• Participates in all phases of the M&S Framework integration for the MDA Ground Tests events, Flight Tests and CDI activities. This includes supporting test planning, functionality tracing, understanding OSF Framework (FW) build requirements and ensuring they are met in these events/activities.
• Supports the M&S Event Mission Manager as the DES-I representative in GT/FT events and CDIs, interfacing with the DT MTD, and coordinating DES-I Teams response. Drafts and distributes End-of-Day (EOD) reports to keep the DES community apprised of event execution progress.
• Coordinates communications between labs supporting CDI, GT and FT Events for M&S teams (phone lines, bridges, SVOIPs, etc.).
• Drafts and submits PERSTAT (Personnel Status) reports for deployed personnel supporting GT/FT Events; tracks and ensures pre-requisites for the team are completed prior to travel; collaborates with the travel coordinator for team travel requirements.
• Aids the Event Mission Manager in conducting DES-I Internal Coordination Brief meetings for assigned GT/FT events; drafts and updates briefing slide decks, schedules and facilitates meetings, and provides action item lists as necessary.
• Assists with scheduling test resources (facilities, personnel, etc.) to support Missile Defense System-level test events and CDI activities.
• Willing to travel (up to 10%) to coordinate/monitor test support and participate in technical interchange meetings and test planning.
• Engages M&S product configuration management for events, including routing, tracking and coordination of Change Requests (CRs), on-console software and configuration changes.
• Willing to support occasional off-nominal work hours (nights/weekends).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in STEM or related field and a minimum of 5 years’ experience, or equivalent years of experience; or a Bachelor degree with equivalent experience.
• Ability to work in a technically challenging environment and interface with simulation framework developers, test event integration personnel, data analysts, event planners, testers, and other stakeholders.
• Self-starter capable of working with minimal direction.
• Good understanding of the overall MDS infrastructure and Element capabilities.
• Strong interpersonal and analytical skills and ability to work as a team player.
• Ability to work effectively with team members as well as MDS Element contacts, test stakeholders and other DoD contractors.
• Active DoD Secret Clearance required.

Preferred Requirements

• Experience supporting integrated system test events.
• Experience with staffing coordination.
• Entry-level familiarity with real-time distributed simulation infrastructures; MDS Element configurations and operations; and DoW Operational Testing (OT) and Development Testing (DT).

Travel and Work Schedule

• Travel: up to 10-25% to support mission-critical events and meetings.
• Work Schedule: Occasional night and weekend work to meet critical testing schedules and event-driven timelines.

Clearance

• SECRET clearance required; TS preferred.

Work Location

• Huntsville, AL (Redstone Arsenal) on-site.
